RapidEye Basic Product (Level 1B) adalah data radiometrik yang telah dikoreksi, sensor terkoreksi dan band yang memberikan gambar citra satelit dari pesawat ruang angkasa tanpa koreksi lebih lanjut untuk setiap medan distorsi . Data diserta dengan metadata yang diperlukan yang bila dikombinasikan DEM dan GCPs bisa memungkinkan untuk pengolahan lebih lanjut bentuk geocorrection sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Citra ini memiliki format file NITF dengan resolusi 6,5 meter GSD pada nadir.

Koreksi radiometrik diterapkan untuk produk ini meliputi:

  • Koreksi perbedaan relatif dari respon radiometrik antar detektor
  • Non-responsive detector filling  yang mengisi nilai nulls dari detektor yang tidak lagi merespons
  • Konversi ke nilai radiometrik mutlak berdasarkan koefisien kalibrasi

Koreksi geometrik sensor diterapkan untuk :

  • Geometri detektor internal yang menggabungkan dua chipset sensor menjadi array
  • Distorsi optik yang disebabkan oleh sensor optik
  • Memastikan semua band tersusun dengan benar.

RapidEye Basic image product consists of the following file components:

  • Image File – Image product delivered as a group of single-band NITF 2.0 files with associated RPC values. Bands are co-registered.
  • Metadata File – XML format metadata file. Metadata file contains additional information related to spacecraft attitude, spacecraft ephemeris, spacecraft temperature measurements, line imaging times, camera geometry, and radiometric calibration data.
  • Browse Image File – JPG format
  • Unusable Data Mask (UDM) file – GeoTIFF format

Product Framing Geographic based framing – a geographic region is defined by two corners with the image oriented to the direction of flight of the satellite which is off from north by approximately 8 degrees.
